Illuminada

Long story by Nicolas Rincon Gille
With the support of Fédération Wallonie Bruxelles and Shelter Prod

Synopsis

Iluminada, a young Afro-Colombian woman, suffers from visions that appear cyclically. She perceives images that she doesn’t immediately grasp. To understand them, she transcribes them in her diary. It is poetry.
The film tells the story of her transition to adulthood: from the search for love in the urban outskirts of Bogotá to the encounter with her origins in the rainforests of the Pacific.
There, accompanied by several women, she discovers that she communicates with her ancestors. Theirs voices will guide her towards her emancipation, which is also that of her people.
